We are blessed to live in a beautiful part of Tennessee, middle Tennessee with its rolling hills, misty mornings and lovely landscapes.
Besides its beauty, it is known for its Tennessee Walking Horses, world-known Mules and the Elephant Sanctuary.
Elephant Sanctuary??? Elephants in Tennessee? Absolutely!
The Elephant Sanctuary was founded in 1995, is the world’s largest natural habitat refuge developed specifically for endangered African and Asian elephants.
It operates on 2,700 acres in Holenwald, Tennessee. Since 1995, twenty-four elephants have found sanctuary here. They live out their lives with the freedom to roam the natural habitat of the Sanctuary, making new friends and special relationships as the years pass.
Here is sweet video clip about a friendship between the elephant Tara and her special friend.
